Little Gnomes Healing Hurt

My deep holiday blues were lessened by creating a lovely gnome. I was inspired by these rather large elementals to design and make my own versions. The pattern has been tested and just now released. My brother requested the Crone Gnome, so she's departed, and my bff asked for a little bearded guy. They have brought me some measure of equanimity in a time of pain.

Christmas 2009

I was roaring into Christmas while I still had summer energy. I finally made an adult sized tree hat, as I envisioned last year---vs. just saying in my pattern that one could.

And I made a tree that could be a kid's hat.

And I made a slimmer version of my tree.

I really love my tree, that it evolved from reading a lot and making a number of others.
I would love to explore more shapes and forms, bu alas, I don't have any suitable yarn to play with... I would like to try to build one of oversized leaves...

Crochet Christmas Trees

I saw a new trio of trees in a for-sale knitting pattern on Ravelry. I dug them! And then I thought I can do that in crochet!
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/oh-christmas-trees

I stayed up last night til this morning and finished them

The one on the left is an original pattern. The one in the middle is a free pattern online.

The one on the right is improvised.

I've written the tree pattern. Will strive to make another one tonight to test it.
So many of the list pages are malware or fronts for selling, so I hope you'll enjoy seeing what I found as I searched around.

On Michael's

She makes the bottom separate-- i prefer to never sew and so for my little tree on right, backstitch decreases gave me a flat bottom.
